TAIYUAN, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- The State Grid Shanxi Electric Power Company said Friday that it has supplied a total of 6.44 million kWh of electricity for electric vehicles (EVs) in north China's Shanxi Province in the first 10 months of 2019, up 225 percent year on year.

An EV charging network is expected to be built by year-end, which will cover urban areas, highways, county regions and top-level tourist attractions across the province, according to the company.

The company is working on a refined plan of green electricity trading, in a bid to promote the use of wind and photovoltaic power in EV charging.

Shanxi has called for new or clean energy vehicles to be added or replaced in the public service sector and logistics, with all buses, cabs and sanitation vehicles in built-up urban areas replaced by EVs by 2020, according to a three-year action plan previously issued.
