Israel's exports to China down 32.8 pct in first 5 months of 2019: report

JERUSALEM, June 19 (Xinhua) -- The total Israeli exports to China have dropped by 32.8 percent since the beginning of 2019, compared with the same period in 2018, according to a report published Wednesday by Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics.

According to the data, in January-May this year, Israeli exports to China totaled 2.84 billion U.S. dollars, compared with 4.22 billion dollars in the first five months of 2018.

Last May, Israeli exports to China totaled 495.9 million dollars, compared with 570.7 million dollars in May 2018, a decrease of 13.1 percent.

On the other hand, there was a slight increase in Israeli imports from China that reached 3.6 billion dollars in January-May 2019, compared with 3.55 billion dollars in the same period last year, registering an increase of 1.2 percent.

The total Israeli exports fell by 4.9 percent, from about 27.39 billion dollars in January-May 2018, to 26.05 billion dollars in January-May 2019.

The total Israeli imports from the beginning of 2019 amounted to about 32 billion dollars, almost unchanged from a year ago.
