BANGKOK, May 2 (Xinhua) -- The Constitutional Court of Thailand is scheduled to pass a ruling next Wednesday on the controversy over the counting formula for party-list MP seats in the country's general elections.

In a press statement released on Thursday, the Constitutional Court said it plans to pass the resolution next Wednesday, following a petition lodged earlier by the Office of the Ombudsman for the court to rule on the matter.

Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court ordered the secretary general of the National Legislative Assembly to produce and submit copies of the minutes of meetings of the Constitution Drafting Committee, regarding the constitution's Article 91 and the organic law's Article 128 pertaining to the election of MPs, as well as copies of the minutes of meetings of an extraordinary committee of the National Legislative Assembly regarding the organic law's Article 128 within next Tuesday.

The Constitutional Court had earlier rejected a petition demanding a ruling on the same issue filed by the Election Commission.
