KIEV, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- World Bank (WB) Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller has named the priority areas for its future cooperation with Ukraine, local media reported on Friday.

In an interview with Ukrainian online media outlet "Ekonomichna Pravda," Muller said cooperation in the energy sector and the private sector, especially with a focus on agriculture and a farmland reform, remains particularly important for the WB.

Another priority for the bank is the development of human resources in Ukraine through education and healthcare reforms, Muller said.

"It is important to do everything so that Ukraine has the opportunity to increase its potential for economic growth," he emphasized.

The WB is one of the key reform advisers and financial investors in Ukraine. As of Jan. 1, 2019, the bank was implementing eight joint investment projects with Ukraine worth a total of more than 2.4 billion U.S. dollars. The projects covered such areas as energy, road transport, social assistance and health care development, as well as small and medium businesses.
