File photo taken on May 18, 2016 shows troupers preparing to perform China's Kunqu opera "The Peony Pavilion" at the Palace Museum in Beijing, capital of China. The Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, has taken new approaches, such as TV show, music and games, to promote its cultural relics and Chinese traditional culture. It reaches out to the public with new digital technology by integrating modern technology with its history and splendid traditional culture spanning 600 years. Visitors may walk directly into the emperor's residence and, through VR, see everything as it was in its heyday, even to the extent of being able to talk with a senior minister with the help of artificial intelligence. The biggest of its kind in the world, the Forbidden City which houses close to 1.9 million antique items, was home to China's emperors and was the highest center of power from 1420 to 1911.
