WARSAW, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Migration policy, Brexit and the EU budget were among the themes of talks between Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and his Czech counterpart Andrej Babis on Monday in Warsaw, ahead of Thursday's EU summit in Brussels.

Morawiecki said his talks with Babis mainly concerned the agenda of the coming EU summit. He stressed that the positions of Poland and the Czech Republic are very consistent in, among other areas, the field of migration policy.

"The Czech Republic and Poland hold the unequivocal position that sovereign decisions on the protection of our borders are the most important in this context and there is no chance that we will be forced to accept migrants," Morawiecki told a joint press conference with Babis.

Among the other topics discussed was Brexit. Morawiecki said the Polish government wants to maintain a "golden mean" and a compromise between the EU and Britain after the latter leaves the EU.

He said Poland wants to guarantee the rights of Polish citizens in Britain, British citizens in Poland and to secure the interests of Polish entrepreneurs.
