BEIJING, July 7 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition on the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression opened Saturday in Beijing to mark the 81th anniversary of the start of China's comprehensive defense against the Japanese invasion.

More than 120 pictures and 281 objects are exhibited at the Museum of the War of Chinese Peoples' Resistance against Japanese aggression.

An audio-visual version is provided of the items at the exhibition. Songs about China's defense against Japanese aggression can be played, and letters home of 32 heroes can be read by scanning a WeChat QR code.

"Although my daughter is still little, I hope she can understand that our happy life today was earned by generations of efforts and even life," said Zhang Qi, who went to the exhibition.

Historians agree that Japanese full aggression against China began on July 7, 1937, when a bridge that acted as a crucial access point to Beijing was attacked by the Japanese invaders. The Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was a key part of World War II.

The exhibition will last until March 2019.
