KHARTOUM, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Wednesday reiterated Sudan's commitment to continue to participate in the Saudi-led Arab alliance to restore legitimacy in Yemen.

"Sudan's primary declared positions are to defend the land of the two Holy Mosques and to abide by its noble positions which necessitated its participation in the Operation Decisive Storm," al-Bashir said in a statement.

The Saudi envoy conveyed Saudi Arabia's thanks and appreciation to Sudan for its participation in the Operation Decisive Storm and the heroic roles played by the Sudanese forces which contributed to the progress achieved by the forces of the Operation Decisive Storm in Yemen, said the statement.
