KIEV, May 22 (Xinhua) -- The State Border Guard Service (SBGS) of Ukraine said Tuesday it is fully prepared for the influx of foreign fans coming to Ukraine for the UEFA Champions League finals.
More than 120 border crossing checkpoints across the country, including five airports, were prepared for welcoming the football fans, the SBGS said in a statement.
The Boryspil International Airport in Kiev, which will see the highest number of fans, was equipped to serve about 7,000 passengers per hour, the statement said.
On May 26, the Olympic stadium in Kiev will host the 2018 UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Also, on May 24, the UEFA Women's Champions League final between Germany's Wolfsburg and France's Lyon will take place at the Dynamo stadium in the Ukrainian capital.
The Ukrainian authorities said earlier that more than 60,000 foreign fans will visit Kiev for the events.
