BEIRUT, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan revealed Monday that his country will establish with Lebanon a joint fund to support mutual business initiatives.

Karapetyan, on a two-day visit in Lebanon, met with his Lebanese counterpart Saad Hariri for talks that focused on the economic exchange between Armenia and Lebanon.

In a joint press conference held after the meeting, the Armenian PM said the two sides have seen great capabilities in developing bilateral economic relations.

"We are very interested in receiving Lebanese businessmen in Armenia," he said, mentioning the potential of Armenia, especially as a member in the Eurasian Economic Union.

Karapetyan said potential cooperation can be reached in fields including light industries, gold and pharmaceutical industries, tourism, and information technology.

He also invited Hariri to visit Armenia, saying the work of a joint ministerial committee, which has not met for years, will be activated before the visit of Hariri.

Karapetyan also met with Lebanese President Michel Aoun and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
