ISLAMABAD, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan said on Saturday that Indian cross-border firing has killed five civilians and injured 22 others in three days.

The Pakistani foreign ministry said Indian forces continued firing along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary on Saturday, which killed an elderly civilian and injured two girls.

The ministry said in a statement that Director General at the South Asian Desk at the ministry Mohammad Faisal summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh and condemned Saturday's "unprovoked ceasefire violations."

"The number of casualties at the Working Boundary has also risen due to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing by the Indian forces. Four more innocent civilians embraced shahadat (martyrdom) while 20 were injured on Jan. 18 and 19," the statement added.

Pakistan and India had declared ceasefire along the LoC and the Working Boundary in 2003. Both, however, routinely accuse each other of violating the ceasefire.
