Located in the mountains at the west side of the West Lake, Waitongwu villagers used to plant tea as their main source of income. After years of development, both the incomes of the village collective and per capita incomes of the villagers have increased dramatically, reaching 4.32 million yuan (665,311 U.S. dollar) and 49,000 yuan (7,546 U.S. dollar) in 2017.
