SAN FRANCISCO, June 22 (Xinhua) -- U.S. aerospace leader Boeing Company (Boeing) said Friday that it has donated 350,000 U.S. dollars to a non-profit partner to create more education opportunities for well-educated young minorities in the country.

Boeing said its donation to the non-profit A Better Chance (ABC) will support programs that increase the number of minority students placed into high-performing college preparatory schools, enabling them to pursue positions of responsibility and leadership in American society.

The grant dollars will help fund the ABC's College Preparatory Schools Program (CPSP) and Alumni Relations program to aid more minority students in their pursuit for better college education, Boeing said.

The Boeing contribution adds to a previous multi-year investment of 500,000 dollars to encourage competitive learning and skills development.

"This additional investment, along with our previously announced commitment, will help lift up our young people and in turn improve our local communities," said Tim Keating, executive vice president of Government Operations at Boeing.
