KATHMANDU, March 13 (Xinhua) -- A day after the deadly crash of the U.S.-Bangla Airlines at Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister of Bangladesh A.K.M Shajahan Kamal arrived here on Tuesday.

The Bangladeshi minister is here to take stock of Monday's deadly crash of the U.S.-Bangla Airlines plane that left 49 killed and 22 injured, a spokesman at Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bharat Raj Paudyal told Xinhua on Tuesday.

The aircraft of Bangladesh's private U.S.-Bangla Airlines had crashed and burst into flames while landing at Nepal's international airport with 71 people onboard, 67 being passengers -- 32 from Bangladesh, 33 from Nepal and one each from China and the Maldives.

Twenty-two people including 11 Nepali nationals had survived the crash, according to authorities.

Raj Kumar Chettri, a general manager at the TIA, said that the deadliest crash took place due to the pilot's "missed approach."

The UBG211 flight was en route to Kathmandu from Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The ill-fated plane was said to have circled the airport twice before trying landing.

The injured in the incident are receiving treatment in different hospitals in Kathmandu.
